Sandrine Danaë, author-illustrator, was born in France (Rouen, Normandy). After 10 years in London and 3 years in Amsterdam, she settled back in France nearby Paris with her husband (singer, guitarist, songwriter, and leader of the band DELGRES) and her two daughters.
She is the designer of a unique model of small articulated fabric characters that she brings to life in the illustrations of her books.
The concept of her books was born out of Sandrine’s deep admiration for the courage, resilience and inherent beauty in every being. While everyone often sees themselves as ‘ordinary’, she sees in us an extraordinary person, an unsung hero. Just like heroes, we go through storms, endure moments of deep pain, meet people who transform our existence, and also live moments of profound joy and memorable triumphs.
In her albums, Sandrine delivers the inspiring true journeys of these extraordinary ‘ordinary’ heroes. Reading her books, children are encouraged to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams, despite the obstacles they meet. Sandrine aspires to make them want to discover who they truly are, to tap into their talents and never allow the world to extinguish their inner light no matter their differences.
Each dream is a seed which, once planted, can bloom into something bigger, something wonderfully unexpected.
In her books, Sandrine shares the inspiring true journeys of extraordinary “ordinary” heroes.
Her first book “Nathalie the hair fairy” is about a resilient young girl who faces bullying for being different. In her search for healing, she discovers a hidden talent that brightens her life and those around her. A touching journey of self-acceptance and the power of holding on to hopes.
An inspiring read that encourage children to embrace their differences and uncover their unique strengths within.
